Miles to Go Before I sleep, 2016
The body in space
When I sleep every night,
what am I called or not called?
And when I wake, who am I if I was not while I slept?
"Too Many Names' by Pablo Neruda
Inspired by a night trail where the artist and her female friend walked through the night and slept in industrial outdoor spaces, Miles to Go Before I Sleep was developed in response to the prompt, 'The body, its frailties & vulnerabilities in space'. The video and performance work were created as the opening sequence to the devised performance My Body Told Me directed by Huzir Sulaiman and performed by Yale-NUS College students.
Directed and Performed by Mariel Chee
